Dubas looking to re-sign Clifford for roster depth

There is a lot to be said for someone who knows his role, and the Leafs are looking to reward Kyle Clifford for that.

Rumours are that the Leafs are looking to re-sign the forward to a two year contract.

Clifford has played sixteen games this season for Toronto since coming over in a trade from the L.A. Kings.

The forward has scored a goal and two assists while adding 21 penalty minutes in his short time with Toronto.

While these are not overly impressive numbers it’s the intangibles that Clifford brings that make him an asset to the team.

Clifford brings a sense of toughness while providing a veteran presence to the Leafs.

With the inconsistency that plagued Toronto this season having someone like Clifford around for the foreseeable future can only be considered a good thing.
