Toronto Maple Leafs 3 Vancouver Canucks 1

The Toronto Maple Leafs completed their three game sweep of the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.

With a 3-1 win Toronto over the last three games has out scored the Canucks by a total of 15-5.

As the Leafs offence fires on all cylinders Toronto continues its terrific start to the season.

The Leafs now hold a record of 10-2-1 and sit firmly in first place of the North Division 3 points ahead of the Montreal Canadiens.

Toronto jumped out to an early lead on Monday night as Morgan Rielly potted his second goal of the season.

Vancouver would fight back in the second getting a goal from star forward Elias Pettersson.

The Leafs would take over in the third as its stars Marner and Matthews took over.

Toronto scored just eleven seconds apart as Auston Matthews and Alex Kerfoot both netted a tally. Bringing the final score to 3-1.

This is the eighth consecutive game that Matthews has scored a goal bringing his season total to eleven.

As the Toronto forwards were racking up the score the Leafs got a fantastic performance from Fredrik Andersen as well.

Andersen stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced posting a .969 save percentage.

The Leafs net-minder now has a record of 8-2 on the season posting a 2.6 goals against average.

Toronto will now shift its focus to the Montreal Canadiens as they will play a two game set at the Bell Centre starting on Wednesday night.

With just three points separating the two long time rivals in the standings these two games will have big implications early in the season.
