It’s been a long week for the Toronto Blue Jays roster. After getting swept by New York, the Blue Jays players were hoping Baltimore would provide a better matchup. But a lackluster showing, punctuated by more sub-par bullpen play, resulted in a 7-1 loss in Baltimore.

Robbie Ray was solid, striking out 5 while allowing only 2 runs over 4 and ⅓ innings. The bullpen was fairing well until the 8th, when Jeremy Beasly and Patrick Murphy combined for 5 runs against.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr., providing Toronto’s only offense, hit his 7th homer of the year mid-way through the game. Cedric Mullins hit 2 home runs in the evening, including a 3-run shot in the 8th for Baltimore.

In other Blue Jays news, lefty Anthony Kay has been recalled from Triple-A.

Their team free-falling in the MLB’s AL East, fans will hope the Blue Jays game today features a better showing.
