Toronto Raptors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road 122-112

The Toronto Raptors backcourt dominated in their win against the Timberwolves.

Kyle Lowry and Fred Van Fleet both had huge performances on the road at Target center on Saturday night.

The Raptors backcourt combined for 57 points. Out scoring Minnesota’s guards by 49 points.

Van Fleet who was playing in his first game since injuring his hamstring five games ago finished with 29 points on 11 of 16 shooting while shooting 7-8 from 3 good for 87.5%.

Norman Powell had another big game off the bench for Toronto finishing with 20 points in 24 minutes of play.

With the return of Van Fleet Toronto has successfully weathered the injury bug that plague them early in the season.

The Raptors started slowly in this game but some quality adjustments at the half by head coach Nick Nurse led to a big second half for Toronto.

Toronto outscored the Wolves 64-50 in the second half.

The Raptors held the Timberwolves to just 40% shooting from the field and just 28% from behind the arc.

Once again the Raptors defence came up big, forcing Minnesota into 19 turnovers leading to 26 points.

Toronto also outscored Minnesota in the paint 62-46.

Top scorers for the Timberwolves Jarret Culver and Robert Covington who finished with 26 and 22 respectfully.

The Raptors with the win now sit tied with the Boston Celtics for 3rd in the Eastern Conference.

Toronto will have a very short turn around as they will now head to Atlanta to take on the Atlanta Hawks Monday.
