Calgary Flames 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 2

Toronto Maple Leaf’s winning run was ended after two games last night, as they fell to a late comeback by the Calgary Flames.

The Leads led after the second period, but they would hand over the advantage to the Flames to fall to a 4-2 defeat.

Toronto came into the game on the back of two straight wins. These wins came against the Vancouver Canucks and the St. Louis Blues. However, the Flames were competitive against the in-form side.

The Leafs handed the game to the Flames in the space of three minutes at the beginning of the final frame.

There was a brace in this time for the Flames Johnny Gaudreau. That is the first time that the Calgary man has scored twice this season.

The other goals for the Flames came from Travis Hamonic and Michael Frolik.

Toronto’s goals came through Mitch Marner and John Tavares, with both players also registering an assist too.

Frederik Andersen made 24 saves in the defeat for the Maple Leafs, while the Flames stopper- David Rittich made 34 saves.

The Leafs can get back to winning ways on Saturday when they travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers.

Peace,

Burke.
