Columbus Blue Jackets 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 3

The Toronto Maple Leafs are lacking that all-important aspect of consistency this season.

Their record for the season now reads five wins and three defeats, with the most recent of these coming against the Columbus Blue Jacks.

Toronto had the game in the palm of their hand after the second period as they led 3-2, but they squandered that to lose in overtime eventually.

The Blue Jackets noticed their chance in the additional time and took it with aplomb,

The scorers for the Maple Leafs in the defeat were Austin Matthews, Kasperi Kappen and William Nylander.

However, big questions will be asked of Mike Babcock following the way in which this game was thrown away.

They will need to improve defensively if they have any hopes of achieving something this season.

Frederik Andersen was a bright spark for the Leafs however as he made 38 saves in the defeat. However, he may have felt like he was at blame for one of the goals in which he conceded.

The Leafs continue the regular season when they travel to the Boston Bruins.

Peace,

Burke.
