Toronto Blue Jays 5 Baltimore Orioles 4

With the Blue Jays down in the bottom of the tenth Randal Grichuk stepped up to the plate.

The Jays had a man on second and were down to their last out.

Bang! Grichuk hit a line drive deep to centre field.

Back.. back.. .and over the out stretched glove of Baltimores Cedric Mullins.

Jays win, Jays win.

Torontos win on Friday firmly plants them in a playoff spot.

The Jays are now 2.5 games ahead of Baltimore in the AL East, and are playing some of their best baseball of the season.

Toronto got another solid outing on the mound from Hyun-jin Ryu on Friday night.

Ryu pitched six innings giving up eight hits and two earned runs, while striking out seven.

The Jays also got a nice performance from Guerrero Jr as well.

Guerrero went 2-4 at the plate with an rbi.

Toronto chased Baltimore starter John Means in the fourth inning after scoring two.

The Jays would add another run in the sixth, but were held scoreless until Grichuk’s home run in the tenth.

On a night where Toronto was out hit and were down late the young Jays were able to over come adversity.

This Blue Jays team is showing that they could make some noise if they get into the playoffs.

Toronto certainly needs to add some pitching especially if they make the playoffs.

But if the Jays front office has shown anything, it is that they can find pitching in different avenues so it is definitely possible.

The Jays will look to add to their lead over the Orioles in the AL on Saturday.

Game is set for 6:37pm EST.
