Torontos batters looked much better in their second game versus the Mets.
New York sent Seth Lugo to the mound.
Lugo pitched five innings giving up seven hits and three runs, posting five strike-outs.
The Jays got a much needed boost on Saturday as star short stop Bo Bichette made his return to the lineup after missing time with a knee injury.
Bichette went 1-4 at the plate in his return, batting second in the lineup.
With the win Toronto holds on to its half game lead over the New York Yankees for second place in the AL East.
Toronto still has one more game at home versus the Mets before travelling to New York to take on the Yankees for a three game set.
The next four games will be pivotal for Toronto as they look to hold on to their playoff spot in the AL.
With just fifteen games left on the season every game will be crucial for the young Jays.
The Jays made moves at the deadline anticipating a playoff run.
With expectations high the young Jays will have to show up.
