Toronto Blue Jays 7 New York Mets 3

The Toronto Blue Jays took two out of three games against the New York Mets with a 7-3 win on Sunday night.

After a blow-out in game one Toronto rallied to win two straight.

Toronto got a masterful performance from acre Hyun-jin Ryu on Sunday.

Ryu pitched six innings giving up just one run on eight hits while striking out seven Mets batters.

While the Mets ultimately out hit the Jays (12-7), Toronto did well to limit the Mets offence and capitalize on their own chances.

Santiago Espinal played short-stop for Toronto on Sunday, as Bo Bichette works his way back from injury.

Bichette batted DH for Toronto on Sunday.

Espinal filled in well going 1-4 at the dish.

He also drove in three rbi’s to extend Torontos lead in the 6th.

The Jays scored five runs in the sixth to take a commanding 7-0 lead into the final three innings.

Toronto’s relievers did their job and held the Mets to just three runs.

With the win Toronto keeps its spot in second place in the AL East.

Toronto have just a half game lead over the third place Yankees as the two are set to meet on Tuesday night for three games.

The Jays will have to come up big if they hope to hold on to their second place spot.

New York have been playing well as of late.

The Yankees also have a number of players back from injury since they last met Toronto.

The Jays will go into the series with New York as the underdog but Toronto is no stranger to that.

Toronto are playing with house money right now, no one expected this team to be as good as they have been this season.

The Blue Jays will take on the Yankees at 7:05pm EST on Tuesday.
