For the second straight game, the Toronto Blue Jays gave up 5 runs to the Red Sox before the 3rd inning. The Blue Jay’s blazing-hot offence got the team back into the game and had them up 7-5 heading into the 9th. A 2-run homer from J.D Martinez gave Boston the lead and Matt Barnes’ 10th save of the year sealed the deal.

After an impressive win over the Red Sox to start the 3-game set in Dunedin, the Toronto Blue Jays have back-to-back losses and lost important ground in the division.

Despite the loss, Jays manager Charlie Montoyo had some positive words for his team. “We’re one out away from taking two out of three. It’s just one of those games. This game was a roller coaster.”
