There was a Christmas miracle in Toronto last night, as the Toronto Raptors fought back from 30 points behind the secure the win against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Raptors were outscored in two of the three opening periods, before turning on the style in the final period to make it five wins on the bounce.
Toronto outscored the Mavericks 47-21 in the final period of play at the Scotiabank to claim the win. The arena was buzzing, as fans in attendance started to believe that something special was about to take place.
The Raptors were without Pascal Siakam for the game last night. However, they were led by 32 points from Kyle Lowry.
There was also a career-best tally of 21 points scored by Chris Boucher in the game last night. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson got 18 points, and there was ten for Fred VanFleet.
Toronto started the evening slowly, and trailed 51-42 after the first two periods. That lead was extended by the Mavericks at the end of the third. Dallas went into the fourth period 86-63 ahead.
Dallas shared their points around well, with five players scoring more than ten points. They were led by 21 from Jalen Brunson.
Meanwhile, Kristaps Porzingis, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dwight Powell and Tim Hardaway Jr also scored double-digit totals.
The win ensured a fifth straight victory for the Raptors ahead of their busy festive period. They face the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, before hosting the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day.
