LA Lakers 104, Toronto Raptors 113

The Toronto Raptors constantly throw the bookmakers’ odds out the window, and they were once again at it last night to beat the LA Lakers 113-104 away from home.

Much of the talk before the game centred around the possibility of LeBron James and Anthony Davis showcasing their skills against the current champions.

However, they forgot the Raptors are also a pretty special basketball side. Defence prevailed as James was held to 13 points. Meanwhile, Pascal Siakam and Fred VanFleet recorded 24 and 23 points respectively.

There was also double digit tallies for Chris Boucher, Norman Powell, Terence Davis and Rondar Hollis-Jefferson.

Toronto did an excellent job of containing James throughout the evening, and he just had no answer throughout.

The Raptors scored consistently throughout the evening. While the Lakers fell out of sync during the third. The Raptors outscored their hosts 26-18 in that period, and that was ultimately the defining moment of the game.

Toronto now gets set for another emotional evening tomorrow as they come up against Kawhi Leonard for the first time since his departure.

Peace,

Burke.
