The Raptors blew a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter Sunday night in their first meeting of the season against the San Antonio Spurs at Scotiabank Arena.
Toronto was leading for most of the game and was up 82-69 heading into the 4th quarter, but were unable to seal the deal against the Spurs.
This is the second time in the last three games that Toronto has blown a lead in the fourth quarter. Toronto also lost to the Trail Blazers in similar fashion on January 7th.
Pascal Siakam returned to the Raptors lineup, after his near month long absence since injuring his groin.
Siakam struggled in the contest, going just 6-17 from the floor, scoring just 15 points in 30 minutes of play.
The Raptors also welcomed Norman Powell back from injury. Powell played well in his return scoring 20 points on 8-14 shooting in 31 minutes of play.
Toronto gave up 46 points in the paint and were out rebounded 51 to 45 by the Spurs.
The Spurs were able to get contributions from multiple players in the game especially off its bench with Rudy Gay and Derrick White scoring 15 and 13 points in just over 20 minutes a piece for the pair.
Former Raptor and Spurs all star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan continued his hot play as he led all scorers with 25 points 8 rebounds and 4 assists on 7-12 shooting in 35 minutes of play.
Toronto will look to rebound from its loss to the Spurs on Wednesday, January 15th when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
