The Maple Leafs are off to a strong start this season.

Nine games into the season Toronto holds a record of 7-2 in the north division.

With a win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night Toronto is in the drivers seat in the North Division and are on a four game win streak.

The Leafs are off to a hot start this season but Coach Sheldon Keefe says “We are not even close to being the team we can be”.

Toronto got production from all lines against Edmonton on Thursday night.

With goals from Spezza, Matthews, Nylander, and Simmons Toronto filled it up on Thursday night.

The Leafs also got a strong performance from goaltender Fredrik Andersen against the Oilers.

Andersen stopped 26 of 29 shots making some key saves late in the game to seal the win for Toronto.

Toronto held Edmontons high powered offence in check holding Connor McDavid scoreless as well on Thursday.

Leon Draisaitl (2) and Zack Kassian (1) scored the goals for Edmonton against Toronto.

Edmonton Oilers net-minder Mikko Koskinen saved 23 of the 27 shots he faced on Thursday night.

The Leafs will take on the Oilers again on Saturday to conclude their four game road trip.
