Having lost five of their last six games, the Leafs’ roster luck may finally be turning around. Spotting their fan-favourite St.Pats jerseys, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be receiving two huge roster upgrades to their forwards tonight.
Energy-man and net enforcer Wayne Simmonds will finally return to the Toronto Maple Leafs roster after an extensive 18-game absence due to a broken wrist. The Leafs desperately missed Simmonds’ physical presence along the boards and in-front of the net during their recent series with the Winnipeg Jets. With Simmonds returning, Keefe might look to make some changes to the top three forward lines. Especially with Alex Galchenyuk making his Leafs debut.
The former 3rd overall draft pick has bounced around the NHL the last five seasons hoping to recreate the highs of his 2014-15 season. But maybe this was a consequence of poor expectations rather than poor performance. After 8 AHL appearances with the Marlies this season, Galchenyuk may be the sixth Forward Dubas has been looking for all year.

The luck of the Irish was not with the Leafs tonight as the club records another loss in their infamous St. Pats uniforms. Wayne Simmonds provided the physical spark fans expected, but the real story of the night was Andersen’s poor showing.
Despite limiting the Flames to 18 shots, Frederik Andersen let in 4 non-threatening goals for an abysmal .778 save percentage. Which was much better than last game’s .929 performance. Prior to the game Andersen had shared with the media that he was playing through injury. How much that influenced his performance tonight is unclear but it does present a serious amount of questions when it comes to his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
