Toronto Maple Leafs 1, Ottawa Senators 3

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been enjoying themselves on their pre-season tour of St John’s, Newfoundland.

However, the NHL side had to put on a display for their fans in attendances after using most of their time away bonding.

The Leafs fell behind in the opening period and offered very little in the final third as the wound up losing heavily to the Ottawa Senators 3-1.

Kasperi Kapanen gave those in attendance something to shout about. However, there wasn’t much else to like for Maple Leafs fans in attendance for this game.

Mike Babcock admitted after the game that Austin Matthews will be back soon, and he will undoubtedly liven this team up a little.

They offered very little in the final third, and the defeat seemed inevitable.

Frederik Andersen made 14 saves in the defeat, while Kashmir Kaskisuo was brought on for his Maple Leafs bow and he made five saves as the Senators wrapped up the game.

The Leafs continue their stay in Newfoundland next time out when they come up against the Senators again.

Peace,

Burke.
