Lewis Hamilton Wins Portuguese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has become the winningest driver in Formula One history.

Hamilton claimed his record setting 92nd victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix on October 25th.

The win moves Hamilton past Michael Schumacher on the all time wins list.

Hamilton started from pole position at Portimao’s Algarve International Circuit.

Leading for much of the race Hamilton was forced to push late as Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas was less than second behind on the last lap.

While Bottas was close Hamilton was still able to come away with yet another victory.

The win is Hamiltons seventh of the season.

Since Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013, Hamilton and Mercedes have been the cream of the crop in the sport.

Amassing 71 wins since 2013 Hamilton has become the face of F1.

A feat that cannot go unnoticed.

It’s going to take some time to fully sink in,” Hamilton said.

“I was still pushing flat out all the way to the line. I’m very much still in race mode, mentally. I can’t find the words at the moment.

With the win Hamilton puts himself in the argument for the greatest driver of all-time.

Hamiltons 92 total wins puts him tops in the sport, one win ahead of the great Micheal Schumacher.

The next closest driver in wins is Sebastian Vettel who has just 53 F1 wins.

Hamilton is on pace to finish first overall in F1 again this season and has put Mercedes in position to win the constructors championship.

This would be Mercedes seventh constructor championship in a row, proving that the pairing of Mercedes and Hamilton is some of the best ever seen in the sport.

“What I can tell you is that I’m trying to make the most of it everyday. Everything that we do together, we’re all rolling in the same direction and that’s really why you’re seeing the success that we’re having,” said Hamilton.
