Toronto Blue Jays 2 Tampa Bay Rays 8

The Blue Jays first post season appearance since 2016 came to an abrupt end on Wednesday night in Tampa.

Toronto fell in two straight games to the Tampa Bay Rays eliminating the young Jays from the post season.

Hunter Renfroe hit a grand slam as the top seeded Rays bounced Toronto from the AL Wild Card.

Tampa scored six runs in the second inning putting the young Jays away early.

Toronto starter Hyun-jin Ryu lasted just two innings giving up eight hits and three earned runs.

An already stretched Toronto bull-pen could offer little support as the Rays bats were hot.

The Blue Jays made a push late in the season acquiring a number of expiring contracts looking to make a playoff run.

While that plan did not pan out, Toronto earned some valuable experience for the future.

If this season is any indication the future is bright for the Blue Jays.

While Torontos young core will grow and improve the number one concern for this roster is pitching.

Toronto is still without good starting pitching and will need to address this in the coming years.
