Toronto Raptors 101, Philadelphia 76ers 96
The Toronto Raptors made a mockery of the decision to leave the NBA champions out of the Power Rankings by showcasing their full quality on Monday evening as they ran over the Philadelphia 76er at the Scotiabank.
Earlier in the day, the Raptors were left off the rankings of the top ten teams in the NBA despite being unbeaten over the past seven days. They were led to victory by an inspired performance from Pascal Siakam.
Spicy P ended the night with 25 points, and Fred VanVleet contributed 24 in the 101-96 win. But, the main story from the night was that the Raptors was able to keep Joel Embiid pointless for the very first time in his career.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson also put a shift in for the Raptors as he finished the night with 16 points. There were three further players to score more than ten for the Raptors and they were OG Anunoby, Terence Davis and Norman Powell.
Josh Richardson led the Sixers, as he finished with 25 points, while Tobias Harris had 18.
There was constant references throughout the night to the previous meeting between the sides where Kawhi Leonard scored a dramatic last-second basket to take the Raptors through to the conference finals.
