Mario is having a major moment.

In celebration of his 35th birthday on September 13, the iconic Nintendo character has been popping up everywhere from Kinder Eggs, Monopoly boards, and LEGO sets to clothing and kicks.

Most recently, Puma revealed a line of Super Mario trainers, accompanied by Mario-themed t-shirts and hoodies. There’s a different pair of trainers for each of the games in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

The first-released RS-Dreamer Super Mario 64 basketball shoes boast the beloved virtual plumber’s signature red and blue colourways. Not long after its release, Nintendo added the Super Mario Sunshine (a trainer with a white and wave-blue colourway) and the Super Mario Galaxy (a darker, blue and purple shoe that reflects the game’s starry skies). The shape of all variants remains the same.

Each pair of shoes reflects Mario loud and clear, with the character appearing in the soles and Mario accents appearing throughout.

This isn’t Puma’s first foray into the video game world. A few years back, Puma revealed a line of Sonic-inspired sneakers, followed by a line of Tetris-based footwear. The shoes retail for $125, with “junior” sizes available for $100.00 USD
