Toronto Raptors 114, Portland Trail Blazers 106
The Toronto Raptors got back to winning ways last night with a hard fought win on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The hosts led after the opening period, but once the Raptors got their noses in front they never looked back.
The star man for Toronto was once against Pascal Siakam who led from the front with 36 points. Fred VanFleet also registered a very impressive 30.
The two high scoring Raptors were the leading men in terms of points on the floor in Portland.
Injuries continue to have a damaging role on the Raptors as they have recently lost Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka for a few weeks.
However, their bench really stepped up in this game. Rondae Hollis-Jackson ended the night with 16 points, while Terence Davis added a further 15 points for the Raptors.
It may have been a return to winning ways for Toronto but their recent record is also promising. They have now won four in five in the NBA over recent weeks and are looking like contenders.
Defensively the Raptors were sound as they ensured a rare off-night for Damian Lillard who scored nine points. Rodney Hood led the Blazers with 25.
However, they just couldn’t live with the Raptors.
