Toronto Raptors 144 Sacramento Kings 123

The Toronto Raptors went into Fridays matchup with the Kings looking to turn things around.

Toronto had been playing some of their worst basketball in the past few seasons.

Defensively Toronto has struggled this season, giving up over 122 points a game while allowing opponents to shoot 47% from the floor.

For a team that has prided itself on defence since head coach Nick Nurse took over this statistics are troublesome.

With plenty of new faces around the locker room this season it has taken some time for Toronto to work those new players in.

If Friday nights win over Sacramento showed anything, it is that the Raptors will be just fine.

Toronto dominated the Kings in the second half. Allowing the Kings to score just 49 points.

The Raptors also dominated the Kings on the glass, out rebounding the Kings by 18 while grabbing 12 offensive rebounds as well.

Fred VanVleet led the way for Toronto who were with out Kyle Lowry on Friday.

VanVleet poured in 34 points while adding 7 assists to boot.

Toronto also got a outstanding performance from Chris Boucher off the bench scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Bench production has been scarce for Toronto early in the season; For Boucher to provide a spark off the bench is a great thing for the Raptors going forward.

De’Aaron Fox led the way for the Kings in the lost scoring 23 points in just 25 minutes of play.

Lots of positives for Toronto to take away in the win.

Toronto will look to keep things rolling as they now head to Golden State to take on Steph Curry and the Warriors on Sunday night.

Tip off is set for 8:30pm EST.
