The Saturday night game between the Toronto FC and DC United perfectly encapsulates the poor season thus far. The Reds got hammered by their conference rivals from the District of Columbia, allowing 4 second-half goals en route to a 7-1 loss.

Team captain Michael Bradly had some harsh words after the game. He stated, “When you play like that — when you lose like that — words mean nothing afterwards….We have to look at ourselves and find more.”

The TFC now sit in the depths of the MLS table, with the worst record in the league. They have lost 6 straight and have a paltry 1-8-2 record for the year.

Ayo Akinola was a lone bright spot for the Reds on saturday. The Brampton native finished off a beautiful pass from Bradely to cut the deficit to 2, but that was as close as TFC would come.
