Detroit Red Wings 0, Toronto Maple Leafs 6

There is new life at the Toronto Maple Leafs over recent weeks, as they have been buoyed by the arrival of Sheldon Keefe.

Their newfound confidence was on full display last night as the roared to a comfortable 6-0 demolition against the Detroit Red Wings.

There were two goals in the game for Andreas Johnsson, while he also added an assist too. Tyson Barrie was also on target to claim his third of the season. He has now scored in each of his last three appearances for the Leafs.

The other goals for the visiting side were scored by William Nylander, Travis Dermott and John Tavares. Frederik Anderson would have also been happy with his evening as he recorded his 17th shutout.

He needed to make 25 saves in the match to achieve that feat, but it was well deserved. The Red Wings are falling quickly in the standings and will need to end their recent skid pretty soon if they have aspirations.

Peace,

Burke.
