DeMar DeRozan missed a pair of free throws with about two minutes left to play Sunday.
A league leader from the stripe, DeRozan appeared frustrated after the first of two uncharacteristic misses. With Jonas Valanciunas out of the line up, DeRozan saw his streak of consecutive 30-point games end at five games, as the Toronto Raptors dropped an ugly contest 96-91 to Sacramento.
DeRozan, who led the Raptors with 23 points was supported by his back court running mate Kyle Lowry who had 15 points and 10 assists, while rookie Pascal Siakam added 10 points for the Raptors (4-2).
Shooting just 36 per cent on the night, and a sub-par 23 per cent from three-point range the Raptors had a terrible shooting night in a lacklustre game of which they led most of the night until the Kings rebounded to take the lead late in the third quarter, and went up 68-66 heading into the fourth.
Unable to score in the final minute of regulation, fans at the Air Canada Centre began to head for the exits until a three-pointer by Lowry with 12 seconds left made the score semi respectable.
