The days of global exploration may seem a lifetime away… now that we’re months into COVID-19-inspired travel restrictions. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t display our sense of wanderlust loud and proud.
Vans has teamed up with National Geographic to release a limited edition 50-piece collection of sustainable footwear, clothing, and accessories.
The collection features unique photographs and logos from the iconic storytellers. They appear on six of Vans’ classic silhouettes; the Sk8-Hi Reissue 138, Old Skool, Authentic, Era, Classic Slip-On, and UltraRange EXO. Each shoe features National Geographic’s signature yellow borders on its midsole and heel.
The nature-inspired collection features patterns like fish, wildlife, galaxies, ocean water, and lightning; in addition to iconic images that have graced the pages of the magazine over the years.
“Vans and National Geographic come together for a collection of footwear and apparel that celebrates 130 years of the never-ending quest to explore,” Vans’ website statement reads. “The collection celebrates National Geographic‘s longstanding tradition of seeking and storytelling. Discover the different footwear and apparel styles in this collection and become inspired to explore our planet.”
Aside from shoes, the collection also includes matching apparel for males and females, including shirts, shorts, ball caps, a backpack, fanny pack, and children’s wear. All items are now available for purchase, and range in price from $22 to $105 USD.
The Vans brand continues to make headlines for all the right reasons; in support of Black Lives Matter, the company had pledged $200,000 to social justice programs. It’s also recently launched an Autism Awareness line.
