Philadelphia Flyers 3, Toronto Maple Leafs 4

It may not have been the prettiest of performances last night, but the Toronto Maple Leafs were able to get their seventh win of the season.

They managed to hold their nerve in the shootout against the Philadelphia Flyers to claim the win.

The match was tied 3-3 after regulation time. With both sides scoring at least once in all three periods.

The Leafs goals were scored by Kasperi Kapanen, Jason Spezza and Mitch Marner. Frederik Andersen was the real hero of the night, however, as he made an astonishing 40 saves in the victory.

He was in inspired form and showed glimpses of his best to get the win for the Leafs.

However, he was unable to keep the Flyers at bay as they forced the shootout after goals from Claude Giroux, Ivan Provorov and Travis Sanheim.

It may not have been the most commanding of wins for the Leafs, but it was certainly one that they needed to get following an inconsistent start to the new NHL season.

Peace,

Burke.
