New York Islanders 5, Toronto Maple Leafs 4

Anthony Beauvillier scored twice as the red-hot New York Islanders hung on to edge the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4.

Mathew Barzal, Casey Cizikas and Derick Brassard also scored for the Islanders. The win ensured that the hosts winning run was extended to 13 games.

Goaltender Semyon Varlamov recorded 23 saves for the win. Frederik Andersen made 25 saves in a losing effort.

Kasperi Kapanen, Justin Holl, John Tavares and William Nylander scored the Toronto goals.  

The Leafs rallied twice in the final two minutes to cut the lead to one. However, they would lose their third straight match.
