Path to back-to-back titles mapped out for the Raptors
It only seems days ago that the streets of Toronto were full of fans celebrating the history-making success of the Toronto Raptors. But, the anticipation for the new season is heating up nicely as the Raptors have revealed their schedule for the coming season.
Toronto will start their 25th season in the NBA at the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday 22nd October against the New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced on Monday. Meaning, the Raps will celebrate their 2019 NBA Championship on the opening night with a ring ceremony and banner raising prior to the game.
This game marks the 10th time in the past 11 seasons that the Raptors have started their regular season at home. The Raptors road debut is set for Friday 25th October against the Boston Celtics.
Exciting news for fans- for the first time in franchise history, they will play at home on Christmas Day, when they host the Celtics. Other noteworthy home games include the sixth annual Giants of Africa Game, celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela, on December 5th against the Houston Rockets.
While, the return of former Raptor star Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers on December 11th. The NBA’s MVP from last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo, brings his Milwaukee Bucks to Toronto on the 25th February and 3rd April. Meanwhile, the lone visit from Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors occurs on March 16th. The Los Angeles Lakers make a late-season appearance at the Scotiabank Arena on March 24th.
