Detroit Red Wings 3, Toronto Blue Jays 4

Jeremy Bracco scored the only goal in a three-round shootout as the Toronto Blue Jays secured another victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday evening.

The Red Wings Evgeny Svechnikov opened the shootout with a miss before Bracco fired a snapshot past Jonathan Bernier for the deciding goal of the entire game.

Darren Archibald, Matt Read and Hudson Elynuik scored in regulation time for the Maple Leafs. Meanwhile, Michael Hutchinson and Joseph Woll shared time in net.

Hutchinson started and allowed two goals over ten efforts in the first two periods. Meanwhile, Holl made seven saves during the third and overtime.

Svechnikov, Chris Terry and Givani Smith scored for the Red Wings. Bernier made 34 saves in net for Detroit.

Rasmus Sandin took full advantage of his opportunity for the Maple Leafs.

Sandin led all skaters with 30:35 minutes of time on the ice. He had three hits, two blocked shots and one shot on goal.

The Swedish defenceman certainly caught the eye of Leafs head coach Mike Babcock who after the game he told the media, “I thought Sandman was really solid, one of the best players in the game for sure. He played really hard, really smart. He just makes good plays.”

The Maple Leafs play the Red Wings again on Saturday evening.
