Toronto Maple Leafs 3, Montreal Canadiens 0

Much of the news surrounding this game during pre-season has centred around things happening away from the ice.

However, Auston Matthews tried his best to let his hockey do the talking as he scored in a 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Matthews didn’t take questions before the game as he looks to clean up his image after he was facing charges over disorderly conduct.

He did, however, give a short statement. The actions took place in his home town of Scottsdale.

Frederik Andersen has also been in outstanding form throughout pre-season, and he was once again at the top of his game here. He made 26 saves and wasn’t beaten.

Trevor Moore also got on the scoresheet, as did John Tavares. The record on Andersen has been superb throughout pre-season as he has only conceded once.

Two sides are scheduled to meet in the regular season in October.

Peace,

Burke.
